Part of my Landscape, Interrupted series, this painting was inspired by a drive along Highway 37 in Northern California. Our brains tend to initially register man-made structures and signage as scars on the landscape. But eventually, through repetition, these things become an integral part of the landscape—and sometimes even reveal a stark beauty all their own.
